Thailand Elephant camp trail

Well the rain looks as though it's finally stopped so a small bunch of us tried the Doi Bo trail from the Elephant camp in Chiang Rai. Glorious riding day, the trail was in great condition despite all the recent heavy rain so we were in for a treat, although we had a few mishaps along the way on the notorious mossy section.

My first time riding on this side of the Kok river, first impressions looks easy

Great views

Some of the shaded section still pretty greasy

The track was still pretty good but some rutted sections

Helipad landing area

Interesting trail just to the left of the gate, maybe next time.

As we got higher the track was less used, now the dreaded moss began to appear, these pictures don't really show it but it was slippery as hell. Even Jim who i have never seen lay his bike down had a few moments here.

The downhill began nice and shaded and slippy

This steep downhill, maybe one of the hardest sections, its rutted and slippery as hell

Doi Bo viewpoint was reached, we came across a German tourist who had cycled this far from the other side of the mountain along with a couple of locals.

Another great days riding around Chiang Rai,
