Great one and a half days riding on some of the best roads in the north of Thailand with my friend Darryl, since we had both sold our Versys it was time to see how the little 250's performed.
We rode the back way into Phayao from Chiang Rai and quickly realised it was not going to be a good picture taking day now the farmers had begun burning the fields, so no nice long distance pictures today.

The Route.
Having reached Phayao it was a boring 40Km to reach the 1150.
So far the little CRF had been faultless.
I had ridden this road a number of times and passed the turn for the Mae Yom national park, so we decided to have a nose around.
Its a very pretty area and has good facilities for camping or just chilling out.
We followed the road right through it until it finally came to an abrupt stop.
Layout of the park.
Lot's of floating bungalows to rent, but very basic.
It had been a while since i was last down here and the 1339 was in pretty poor shape, now large sections of it have been repaved and a real delight for any sports rider.
With only a couple of hours daylight we pressed on to Nan along the now slick 1026 and 101, not without me demonstrating a few bum clenching power slides for my companion
We reached Nan as darkness fell and checked into the China Tip Sabai at 600 baht a night, great value.
From there it was on to Tony's place for a light snack and flowing conversation in the company of Tony.
The following morning saw us up and around early as i had to be back in Chiang Rai for noon, so we blasted along the 1091-1179 back home, total of 748 km's in a day and half.

Interesting how we zoom past a turn-off to 'somewhere' many, many times before finally saying "Today I'll explore that track". And beautiful Mae Yom was the reward.
RIP Tony.
