Thailand North Kok River Loop

Great ride out today on the north side of the Kok River, several local riders showing up for a very cool dry day's riding and a good opportunity for me to try out the CRM AR 250 after PGMI repair by Two Stroke Racelab

As your can see the ride was pretty elevated.

The route

Lovely crisp but dusty start to the day.

Beautiful wooded section near the Royal Projects

Jim & Ronny

Deserted Christian church looks like it is no longer in use and surprised nobody has tried to dismantle it for it timberwork.

Seen this structure several times before but not sure of its significance.

Down to more level ground and the Kok river comes in view.

Sad to see the burning season is starting early this year.

Some of the kid's at the local village shop.

Messrs Darryl & Ronny enjoying a post ride chat.

On the way back home stopped off at the point i came to grief earlier in the year breaking my wrist, still no warning signs apart from a notice about rubbish tipping.

Myanmar Exploring Tachilek

After the initial confusion crossing the border we finally got checked into our hotel and decided to explore as to how far we would be allowed around Tachilek.

The Golden Cherry Hotel, pretty comfortable and right next to the bike event.

After leaving town we crossed through one check point without any drama, we stumbled upon this unusual new Wat being constructed.

Temporary bamboo Wat while construction takes place.

This lady was casting mouldings for the Wat using latex, pretty smelly job.

Smiling faces all around here we found a school for monk's and the boy's enjoying a game of football.

The next easterly checkpoint was as far as we could go and was politely asked to turned around.

We doubled back at went north, interesting faces and features along the way.

The Wat's showing a very different architecture to what we see in Thailand.

Turning south past the small airport back to town we crossed over a very fast flowing river with floating eating rafts.

So many interesting Wat's in the area.

Reaching town the local market and faces.

Short but sweet a very interesting town, total contrast to Thailand in many ways.
