Laos Phonsavsan To Lak Sao

Well the weather turned crap and it rained for two days straight not the best was to celebrate new year but thats the way it goes.

341 km but before a quick ride around town to picture some of the war memorials

Monks doing the morning alms collection

It was a very cold start until the sun finally broke through the clouds

The gravel road was not the best surface

The sun finally breaking through was very welcome

The resettlement village i had seen a few years earlier looks like it never got occupied and is slowly being stripped

Pity it had spectacular views from there

Some parts still a little greasy on the downhill sectios

The are has been pretty much deforested, but still piles of timber laid by the roadside

Nasty section through the banana plantations torn up by the trucks

The old logging camp i had passed some time before still has a few people trying to make a living

Old lady spinning she quickly removed her hat when i asked if i could take a shot

Lovely terraced fields

Some fantastic views above the clouds

More timber laid to rot

This truck had got bogged down so we had to look for an alternative route

Small shack built on a large rock

Finally reaching the paved road was a blessing

Some great food on a stick in Lak Sao

A quick blast to Lak Sao for the night and a good nights sleep
