I may be wrong but Hmong new year usually falls in mid late December although there is no fixed date, these are pictures i snapped in the Khoune area on the 30th November this year, always a very colourful time of year.

The ball tossing is part of a tradition to find a partner, firstly the girls toss a ball to each other, when one of the boys see's a lady he likes he will then toss the ball to his prospective partner thus beginning the courtship.
